Education: Career day at Erwin Middle School

Erwin Middle School will hold Career Day on Thursday.
Area professionals representing 15 different professions have volunteered their time so that eighth-grade students can learn more about possible careers.
Careers represented include: safety lab technician, mechanic, veterinarian, dentist, attorney, physical trainer, highway patrolman, computer technician, elementary teacher, firefighter, fitness instructor, contractor, pilot, cosmetologist and pharmacist.
Students will sign up for three 30-minute sessions. They will be responsible for gathering information regarding salaries, necessary training/education, work schedules, and advan- tages/disadvantages of the profession.
Career Day is coordinated by the Erwin Middle School guidance department.
