Drug roundup results in multiple arrests

Authorities arrested nine people from Rowan and Cabarrus counties in a drug roundup that began Tuesday morning, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Charges included trafficking in heroin and opium. Other drugs involved in the cases cocaine, hydrocodone, Xanax, marijuana and others, said Capt. John Sifford of the Sheriff’s Office.
“You’re really dealing with the whole gamut,” Sifford said.
Charged were:
– Marjorie Faith Martinez, 31, of 1550 E. Ridge Road, Salisbury, faces the most charges ó 10 ó and is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $1 million bond. Charges include trafficking heroin and opium and possession with intent to to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule III controlled substances.
– Nathan Tyrone Black, 26, 338 Kerr St., Concord, faces seven charges, including selling and delivering drugs. His bond is $40,000.
– Jennifer Christine Agresto, 25, 265 Elliott Drive, Salisbury, faces nine charges, including maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to manufacture, and selling and delivering drugs. Her bond is $25,000.
– Cody Joe Blackwelder, 25, 1240 Mt. Hope Church Road Road, Salisbury, 25, faces one charge of possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I controlled substance. He has been released under $2,000 bond.
– Gary Ross Brewster, 43, 1110 Dial St., Kannapolis, faces one charge of possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substances and one count of selling and delivering. His bond is $10,000.
– Amber Hope Camps, 23, of 377 Ferrell Lane, Salisbury, is charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. She is out under $1,000 bond.
– Chad Lee Eudy, 35, 208 W. 22nd St., Kannapolis, was charged with sell/deliver marijuana. He has been released under bond of $5,000.
– Misty Leeann Gilbert, 24, 167 Tupelo Circle, Salisbury, was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule III nd IV controlled substances. She has been released under bond of $20,000.
– Amy Lynn Nicholson, 20, 331 Autumn Chapel Drive No. 7, Salisbury, faces four charges of possession drug paraphernalia and has been released under $20,000 bond.
All are scheduled for a first appearance in court on Thursday.
Warrants are still outstanding on Nicholas Durette Cathcart of Salisbury; James Smith of Fisherman’s Cove, Salisbury; Victor Phillips of Old Beatty Ford Road, Salisbury; and Jamie Poteat of Rockwell.
Members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigative Division, the Criminal Investigative Division and the Special Response Unit began picking up suspects early on Tuesday morning.
The arrests are the result of several investigations involving illegal drug activity, including officers working undercover, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Some resulted from search warrants executed earlier in the year.
