Three local residents are the victim of a scanner device put on an ATM.
Security officials for Suntrust Bank on 105 S. Avalon Drive reported to the Salisbury Police that three customers had been the victim of an electronic device.
The fraud was discovered after the customers found transactions they did not make. The transaction occurred at a bank in Statesville.
Deputy Chief Steve Whitney said the bank security reviewed video and determined one or more people used a “scheming device” at the ATM which essentially grabbed the numbers from the last card transaction.
Whitney said the Huntersville Police Department is attempting to identify the suspects.
