Contestants are still being accepted for the first annual Senior Idol competition, to be held Tuesday at the Salisbury Mall.
All you have to do is reserve a time slot for your performance.
Senior Idol is part of the Senior Expo to be held at the mall from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., sponsored by the Salisbury Post.
Oak Park Retirement Community is co-sponsoring Senior Idol. The winner gets $100.
Contestants’ performances will be videotaped and must be no more than 2 minutes long. Longer acts will be disqualified.
The videos will be posted on SalisburyPost.com. The winner will be chosen based on the number of times each video is viewed online by Sept. 29.
The winner will be announced Sept. 30 in the Salisbury Post and on SalisburyPost.com.
Amateur individual acts and groups are welcome. There is no entry fee. Contestants must be 55 or older and agree to have a video of their performance posted on SalisburyPost.com. Employees of Oak Park Retirement and the Post are not eligible.
To reserve a performance time slot, contact Rebecca Alexander at the Post at 704-797-4229 or e-mail ralexander@salisburypost.com.
