Communities In Schools to host all-star big band concert

Communities In Schools of Rowan County and Cornerstone Church are bringing back by popular demand “The Rowan Big Band All-Stars” with a holiday concert.
The group will perform at the Event Center, 315 Webb Road, on Dec. 11 at 7:30 pm.
The family-friendly event is free to the public.
The featured soloists are:
– Alexis Cowan, principal from North Middle School.
– Chandler Dickson, student at North Rowan High School.
Come out and get into the holiday spirit by enjoying your favorite big-band Christmas music.
Cookies and punch will be available. Dancing and donations are welcomed and appreciated.
Communities In Schools of Rowan County is a United Way Agency and also receives funding from: the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Department of Juvenile Justice, Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation, Salisbury Community Foundation, Rowan-Salisbury Schools, Speedway Children’s Charities, Margaret C. Woodson Foundation, St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
The mission of the organization is: “To champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.”
