COMING SATURDAY: A story by Post reporter Kathy Chaffin will feature interviews with the project leader of the Rowan-Salisbury School System redistricting study and Gene Miller, assistant superintendent for operations, about proposed maps to be considered by the Board of Education Monday.
Tom Cook explains in the story how OR/ED (Operations Research and Education Laboratory), an educational consulting company from N.C. State University, used state-of-the-art technology which factored in extensive data and research to develop the proposed redistricting study maps.
Miller addresses amendments already being proposed for the Study Map No. 1 recommended by the board’s Redistricting Committee. Monday’s meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the school system’s administrative offices at 110 N. Long St., East Spencer. The public is invited to attend.
Though advertised as a work session, the board will be allowed to vote on a proposed redistricting plan if it so chooses.
