KANNAPOLIS ó A China Grove woman who was in intensive care following a wreck Wednesday on Cannon Boulevard has left the hospital, officials said.
Mary Carol Whitman Mecimore, 72, of 314 Haney St., was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
Hospital Spokesman Lee Brower said she was discharged Friday morning.
A pickup pulled into the path of the vehicle Mecimore was riding in. Her husband, Carl Anderson Mecimore, 74, was driving their Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver of the other vehicle, Archie Willie Pearson, 51, of James Street, attempted to cross Cannon Boulevard at Chapel Street when he struck the couple. He told authorities he did not see Mecimore’s vehicle.
Pearson and Carl Mecimore were treated at the hospital’s emergency room.
