Children and Animals Day Saturday at Dan Nicholas Park

Dan Nicholas Park will be the location of a fun day for children and animals this weekend.
The will hold a Children and Animals Day, a fun and educational event, Saturday from 10 a.m.ń4 p.m.
Local veterinarian clinics will be on hand to discuss flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and other general medical issues.
Dog training instructor Elaine Allman will present a session at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. along with safety tips and pointers on responsible pet ownership.
The park’s student intern will make a presentation about wildlife at 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Peg Rose of Shampooch & Kitty Too will be available throughout the day to illustrate the proper pet grooming. Shirley Blizzard will be on hand selling her all-natural doggie treats cookbook.
At noon The Lizard Wizard will perform a magic show for children in the Nature Center Auditorium. There will be face painting, a coloring contest and guess the number of games will go on throughout the day.
Prizes include gift certificates from Waffle House, Biscuitville, Chick-Fil-A, Captain D’s and Critters.
Dan Nicholas Park is located at 6800 Bringle Ferry Road.
