Staff report
A four-year-old child is being treated at a Charlotte hospital for injuries sustained in a Saturday evening wreck.
The child, Amy Romero Ramirez, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her mother, which collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Shue Road and Corriher Gravel Road around 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
Amy was taken to Carolinas Medical Center ń NorthEast and then transferred to CMC in Charlotte. Information on her condition was not immediately available.
She was one of six people treated at CMC-NorthEast following the wreck.
Trooper C.M. Agner of the N.C. Highway Patrol, said the four-year-old and a one-year-old were in a 2002 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Martha Ramirez Marban, 24, of 740 Stoner Morgan Road.
Marban was driving west on Corriher Gravel Road and failed to stop at the intersection with Shue Road.
Agner said Marban’s vehicle broadsided a 2007 Dodge Durango on the passenger side. Christopher Ryan Trexler, 26, of 175 Barringer Road, was driving south on Shue Road.
Trexler, his father, Michael Alexander Trexler, and two children, a four-year-old and a one-year-old, were taken to CMC-NorthEast where they were treated and released.
Trooper Agner charged Marban with failure to stop for a stop sign.
