Forecasters are calling for 70 degrees Saturday ó a perfect day to check out more than 1,000 chickens, turkeys, guineas and assorted other bids.
The Unifour All Breed Show will be at the Rowan County Fairgrounds on Julian Road, beginning Friday afternoon with the arrival of growers from across the state and region.
Ken Deal of China Grove, a longtime grower, urged parents to get out of the house, get their children away from the television “and come look at something natural.”
Unlike the previous spring shows, this will be an all-breed show with a wide variety of birds on display.
Growers will also have chickens for sale at the fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday. Growers from three states will serve as judges.
Food will also be for sale at lunch Saturday.
Admission is free.
