CentralPiedmontMommies.com, a local nonprofit support group for all moms in Cabarrus, Rowan and Stanly counties, recently collected donations for Armed Forces units serving overseas.
Three members of the group have family members who received the boxes. Donations provided 19 large boxes full of supplies such as toothpaste, shampoo, snacks and magazines that were sent to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
With the help of McNulty Chiropractic, Dorian Eve Photography and many other local businesses, the group raised nearly $300 in a raffle to cover shipping costs. Chameleon Catering and Events of Concord provided food and service.
Central Piedmont Mommies, a Mommies Network community, was founded in March 2006 to help connect and support moms in the Cabarrus, Rowan and Stanly area. Central Piedmont Mommies has more than 560 members who regularly connect online and at area events each month including play dates, park trips, Mom’s Night Out, Bunco Game Night and more.
