For the seventh consecutive year, Cloninger Ford-Toyota-Scion is the presenting sponsor of the Campbell Memorial Golf Classic, organized and conducted by Rowan Regional Medical Center Foundation.
The Campbell Classic is one of Rowan County’s most popular and successful golf tournaments.
Golfer registrations are underway for morning tee times on Friday, May 8, at the Country Club of Salisbury. Player fees are $175 each or $700 for a foursome. Registrations with payments are processed in the order they are received through March 31.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit operations of the new Hospice House.
Last year, the Campbell Classic raised a record-breaking $110,207 for a high-definition video system and for a Campbell Scholarship for Healthcare at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Michael Doran and W. Summersett Carter are co-chairmen of this year’s event. Steering committee members are Jake F. Alexander, Lady Sue Bell, David L. Bolick, N. Trent Bradshaw, Cam Campbell, Lisa B. Clark, J. Michael Clawson, Dr. Stephen J. Colwell, Beverly H. Dillard, J.T. Holden, Jr., Dr. Robert S. Humble, Lisa L. Markham, W. Brian Miller, Sandy T. Morrison, Darryel R. Scism and Dr. Robert G. Steele.
Several holes have been selected for contests such as longest drive and closest-to-the-pin. Prizes will be awarded in each category, as well as additional challenges: a hole-in-one contest, longest putt and $25,000 shootout.
Post-tournament festivities will include door prizes, refreshments and award presentations to each golfer in the first place team of each flight.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the tournament. Sponsorships range from $500 to $10,000. Contact Monica Wray Cameron, special events and gifts coordinator, at 704-210-6881 or mccameron@novanthealth.org.
