Brown presented Eagle Scout award

Colin Chapman Brown, 16, son of David and Pat Brown of Salisbury, received his Eagle Scout Award Jan. 25 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Granite Quarry where he is a lifelong member.
The award was presented by his Scoutmaster, Frank Merrell of Troop 379, which is sponsored by the Granite Quarry Civitans.
Brown, a sophomore at East Rowan High School, has earned 22 merit badges. He earned his God and Life Award in June 2008. He is also a Scholar Athlete.
For his Eagle Scout Project, he created a prayer garden in memory of his former Scoutmaster, the late Charles D. “Chuck” Barringer. The project took more than 225 hours to complete.
