Blotter: Thousands in guns, jewelry stolen

More than $14,000 worth of guns, jewelry and electronics was reported stolen from two homes recently.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating thefts at homes on Clement Street and Dusty Lane, both in Salisbury.
Nine guns were among nearly $9,000 worth of goods taken from the home of John Dalton Walser Jr. at 180 Clement St.
The theft was discovered Thursday shortly before 9 p.m.
According to the report, items taken included a diamond ring valued at $2,000 and a JVC camera valued at $700.
The list of guns taken included a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, two Remington World War I rifles, a black powder musket, a 410-gauge shotgun, 20-gauge pump shotgun, 12-gauge Winchester pump shotguns, a .22 Marlin rifle, 9mm semi-automatic and a .22 Cricket rifle.
In the second home break-in reported Thursday, property valued at more than $5,000 was taken from Susan Lorraine Mirisola’s residence at 380 Dusty Lane.
According to the report, the break-in occurred between Aug. 3 and Aug. 13.
Items taken included two push lawnmowers, a Sony 45-inch TV, $200 in cash, three window air conditioner units, jewelry valued at $1,400, various tools and clothes and a stuffed toy animal.
