Blotter: Rash of shoplifting over weekend

Shoplifters were out in force over the weekend.
Salisbury Police reported a rash of thefts ranging from a pack of Kool Aid to packages of steaks.
Stores reporting thefts included Family Dollar, Kmart, Dollar Tree, West Innes Texaco, Food Lion, Claire’s Boutique and Kohl’s.
Other items taken included shoes, makeup, cubic zirconia earings, and cigars.
In other Salisbury Police reports:
Incidents reported Aug. 21 included:
– Diane Lingard of 702 S. Martin Luther King Ave. reported the theft of a handgun and cash.
Incidents reported on Aug 22:
– An employee of the Ketner Center ABC store at 1636 West Innes St. reported two or three men stole two bottles of liquor.
Incidents or charges reported Aug. 19-20:
– Residents on several streets in Salisbury reported thefts from their vehicles. Multiple thefts were reported from residents of Klumac Road. Other thefts were reported on West Jake Alexander Boulevard and Statesville Boulevard.
– John Cletis Jackson, 22, of 603 W. Horah St., was charged with weapon possession by a felon. Police reported he was in possession of cocaine, marijuana and a firearm.
He was arrested when police stopped a vehicle operated by Antonio M. Jackson,23, 1117 Crosby St.
Officer M.A. Hunter stopped the vehicle at West Horah and South West Street because of a reflective tint.
Jackson was charged with possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance.
Jason Emmanuel Roebuck, 21, of 2675 E. Ridge Ave., a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
