A woman who called police to report she was being threatened by a man with a gun ended up in jail along with the man.
Salisbury Police responded to the call at 226 S. West St., the residence of Garrietta Deshawn Patterson.
When police arrived, she told them that the man, her boyfriend ó Marlo Bryant ó had already left the house.
When police checked the house, they heard a noise in the attic, but the man refused to come down.
At that point, officers used pepper spray, forcing the man to come out of the attic.
Initially, he denied being Bryant, but police were able to confirm his identity as Amarillo Deshaun Bryant, 27, of 515 N. Long St.
He was issued multiple citations for failure to appear in court on felony charges including possession of stolen goods, habitual felon and obtaining property by false pretense. As a result of the Sept. 3 incident, Bryant was charged with resist, delay, obstruct a public officer.
Officers also determined that Patterson had a warrant for her arrest from the Raleigh Police Department.
Patterson was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with bond set at $25,000 pending transfer to Wake County.
Since he had been exposed to pepper spray, police transported Bryant to Rowan Regional Medical Center for evaluation. After being cleared by medical staff, Bryant was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center where he is being held under $115,000 bond.

– Ervin Jerome Davis, 34 Knox St., reported the theft of has pit bull dog from outside his residence.
Incidents or charges filed on Sept. 2:
– Lazy Five Vet Clinic, 2916 S. Main St., reported a customer didn’t have the money to pay for services rendered.
– USA Today reported the theft of coin-operated paper boxes from 522 N. Main St. and 123 Mahaley Ave. The boxes are valued at $535 each.
– Linda G. Whitaker, 1101 N. Main St., reported the theft of a Hoveround, a motorized chair, from her porch while she was at the hospital.
Incidents or charges filed on Sept. 1:
– Sherry Hawthorne, 425 Best St., reported the theft of numerous packages of meat from a freezer in a storage building.
Incidents or charges filed on Aug 31:
– Rowan County Animal Control reported the theft of a trap at Yadkin House Apartments, 201 N. Lee St.
– Kevin Duane Grant was charged with felony embezzlement.
– Various businesses reported receiving counterfeit bills, including denominations of $20 and $1.
