Inclement weather across our region in mid-January caused many blood drives to be cancelled. As a result, more than 875 units of blood could not be collected.
You can help the American Red Cross recover this loss. Because of the economic crisis, many people don’t have the funds to donate to worthy causes, but they do have blood. Almost everyone can afford to give blood. It only costs about an hour of your time.
A state law was changed in July allowing 16-year-olds to donate blood. The Red Cross requires that 16-year-olds get signed parental consent before donating blood.
