AAA says SC has lowest gas prices, NC 19th

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) ó Gas prices may be rising across the nation, but South Carolina motorists can say they’re paying less than anyone else.
AAA Carolinas reported Tuesday that the average price per gallon of regular unleaded in South Carolina is $2.33. That’s three cents lower than Tennessee and four cents below Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, New Jersey and Utah.
North Carolina’s average price was $2.45 per gallon, 19th lowest in the nation.
Hawaii’s $2.83 per gallon was the most expensive gas in the nation.
Gas in South Carolina was priciest in Myrtle Beach, at $2.37. Greenville has the cheapest price per gallon at $2.31.
The latest Lundberg Survey says U.S. gas prices jumped 19 cents a gallon during the past two weeks but are well below last year’s prices. The average price of regular was $2.49 Friday.
