11-year-old injured in wreck

CHINA GROVE ó A single-vehicle wreck in a rainstorm injured an 11-year-old boy who was a passenger.
Colton Blaize Paxton, 16, of 535 Acorn Oaks Drive, Salisbury, was the driver of a 1973 Jeep that struck a utility pole near the intersection of North Main Street and Washington Street.
Chief Hodge Coffield said Paxton was driving the Jeep south around 5 p.m. on North Main Street on May 9 and lost control during heavy rain.
Two passengers were in the vehicle, Westley Harkey, 16, and his brother, Hunter Harkey, 11, both of 1109 Green Heather Drive in Salisbury.
Hunter Harkey was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
No information was available from the hospital.
