Series: Mooresville leads 21-18

Streaks: West has won the last seven meetings, including two victories over Mooresville in 2005
Last time the Blue Devils beat West: Mooresville romped 35-0 in 2002. That was the last time anyone shut out the Falcons.
Last week: West held off Salisbury 14-7; Mooresville lost to Alexander Central 26-21
Next week: West is home against South Rowan; Mooresville is at Charlotte Mallard Creek
Game notes: New Mooresville coach Steve McCurry is still looking for his first win and has his work cut out tonight against a program that has won a school-record 18 in a row.
It’s a new look for the Blue Devils, who like to use the shotgun, go four-wide and run a no-huddle. The defense had changed to a 4-3 rather than the 3-5 alignment the Blue Devils threw at the Falcons in the past.So far the big weapon for the Blue Devils has been back Marshaun Edwards (28 carries, 144 yards last week). Mooresville’s gotten better every Friday, but a late fumble cost the Devils a chance to knock off unbeaten Alexander Central.
West handled a stiff challenge from Salisbury last week and knows it also will get Mooresville’s best shot.
The Falcons aren’t doing it with mirrors. They’re good. They lead the county in every offensive category. They also lead in rushing defense, scoring defense and yards allowed.
Rodney Cline is a mainstay on the offensive line, and Eli Goodson is a terror on the defensive line.
K.P. Parks should go well over 1,000 yards for the season. He averages an astounding 230.5 yards per game.
