The American League roundup …DETROIT ó Aaron Hill had four hits and the Toronto Blue Jays extended the Detroit Tigers’ slump with a 6-4 victory Friday night.
The AL Central leaders have lost four straight to Kansas City and Toronto after a six-game winning streak. The Blue Jays won for just the third time in their last 13 road games.
Brian Tallet (7-9) picked up his second straight win, allowing three runs and seven hits in 6 1-3 innings. He struck out seven, matching a season high. Three relievers finished, with Jason Frasor pitching the ninth for his ninth save.
Nate Robertson (1-2) took the loss, allowing two runs and six hits in 3 2-3 innings. He walked five.
Royals 2, Indians 1, 12 innings
CLEVELAND ó Miguel Olivo homered with one out in the 12th inning after David DeJesus saved the game for Kansas City with two accurate throws.
Olivo, who drove in the Royals’ first run with a fourth-inning groundout, hit an 0-2 pitch from Jose Veras (4-3) into the bleachers in left field for his 19th home run of the season as Kansas City won its fifth straight game.
Jamey Wright (2-5) pitched two innings for the win. Joakim Soria pitched the 12th for his 25th save in 28 opportunities.
DeJesus, the left fielder, threw out runners at the plate in the ninth and 11th inning. Both runners were trying to score from second.
