HAMPTON, Ga. ó Dale Earnhardt Jr. won a late gamble on gas, but that wasn’t enough to overcome Kevin Harvick’s dominance.
Harvick led most of the race and then passed Earnhardt with two laps left to regain the lead and win the Degree V12 300 Nationwide Series race on Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Harvick and Kyle Busch each went into the pits for gas and four tires with 14 laps remaining. Earnhardt and Brian Keselowski stayed on the track, gambling they had enough gas to finish the race.
Earnhardt and Keselowski had enough gas, but were still passed by Harvick and Busch, who finished second. Earnhardt was third, followed by Keselowski and Jeff Burton.
Harvick led 131 of the 195 laps.
TRUCKS
NEWTON, Iowa ó Mike Skinner pulled away after a late restart to win the first Camping World Trucks Series race at the Iowa Speedway.
Skinner, a two-time winner this year, was running away from the field when the yellow flag came out because of debris with seven laps to go. They restarted with four laps remaining and Skinner pulled away in his Toyota to win by 1.370 seconds.

DALLAS ó Prison medical records show Dirk Nowitzki’s former fiancee is not pregnant, the Dallas Mavericks forward’s attorney said Thursday.
Cristal Taylor, 38, is serving a four-year prison sentence in Missouri following her May 6 arrest at Nowitzki’s Dallas home on a probation violation.
Taylor had told The Dallas Morning News she was pregnant with Nowitzki’s child. But Nowitzki attorney Robert Hart said a pregnancy test sought through a July court order has come back negative.

NORTON, Mass. ó Sean O’Hair hasn’t made many birdies lately. He saw more than his share Saturday in another day of low scoring at the Deutsche Bank Championship, and some of them were even his own.
O’Hair was 8 under in an eight-hole stretch in the middle of his round, sending him to a 7-under 64 and a share of the lead with Jim Furyk after 36 holes at TPC Boston.
– PRIDDIS, Alberta ó Suzann Pettersen moved into position to end her 43-tournament winless streak, shooting a 5-under 66 at windy Priddis Greens to take a five-stroke lead into the final round of the Canadian Women’s Open.
– PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. ó Loren Roberts closed on his second straight Champions Tour title, shooting a 6-under 66 at Pebble Beach to take a two-stroke lead over Mark O’Meara in the Walmart First Tee Open.
NFL
NEW YORK ó David Tyree has gone from Super Bowl hero to unemployed hero.Tyree was released by the New York Giants on Saturday in the final cutdown.
Tyree missed last season after injuring his hamstring while coming back from offseason knee surgery. The 29-year-old wide receiver battled minor groin, hamstring and knee injuries in training camp this year and played only two preseason games, missing the last two.
– TAMPA, Fla. ó The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded backup quarterback Luke McCown to Jacksonville in exchange for an undisclosed pick in next year’s NFL draft.NHL
BOSTON ó Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien has signed a multiyear contract extension.
Julien led the Bruins to the playoffs in each of his first two seasons. Last season, he led the Bruins to an Eastern Conference-leading 116 points.
