Rowan’s most successful team
I would like to congratulate the Rowan County American Legion Baseball Team for showing all of us the true meaning of success, courage and heart.
In addition, I would like to congratulate the team and the coaches for achieving the title of the most successful American Legion team in the history of Rowan County.
True, the 1955 team finished third in the nation as you did, but they were not regular league champions as you were.
Yes, the 1955 team was an excellent team, and many of us still remember them with much pride and admiration.
Your success, courage and heart, however, will never be forgotten by the American Legion baseball fans in our county.
Thank you for filling our hearts and souls with pride, and for showing us what true sportsmanship is really all about.

Local paper vital
Thank you so much for the great stories and pictures about the American Legion World Series.
I am one of the faithful fans who could not make the trip but by enjoying your great coverage and watching the games on my computer, I am almost there!
Your reporting on this and other areas of our community, especially our local governing boards and arts community, is why a local newspaper is so vital to our community. Keep up the good work!
