Tracy and Kenan Smith and Shari and Bill Graham are joint presenting sponsors for Rowan Regional Medical Center Foundation’s 2009 Patrons Ball.
Under the leadership of Tracy and Kenan Smith, general co-chairmen, “Laughter is the Best Medicine” is the chosen theme for the 19th-annual event.
The ball will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Country Club of Salisbury.
This year, all proceeds will support operations of the new Hospice House. The committee will strive to raise $165,000 for this most important cause. Last year, Tom Wolpert and Debbie Elliott co-chaired “Colours,” and the event raised $161,000.
Tracy and Kenan Smith have served as volunteers on the patrons ball committee for the past two years. They previously served as chairmen of the 2001 Patrons Ball. Smith is currently a foundation board director and serves as the finance committee vice chairman.
The Miles Smith Jr. family was presented with the Wilson L. Smith Philanthropic award at the foundation’s Donor Appreciation and Recognition dinner in February.

Decorations in various rooms will transform the Country Club into a comedy-themed fun event. Guests can dance in the ballroom to the sounds of North Tower.
