Stay on the High Rock Raceway story
I am writing in regards to the articles dealing with the ongoing saga with the former North Carolina Finishing Co. High Rock Raceway site.
As a former employee of the company 1984-2000 I want to say thanks to all involved at the Salisbury Post for keeping us the readers informed. There have been many great articles over the years and I look forward to continue reading updates.
After losing my job at N.C. Finishing, I went work at Pillowtex and, of course, lost my job there.
Unfortunately, my wife and I moved away from Rowan to Edenton, but I read the paper everyday online.
Thanks again and will look forward to reading the Post.

Role models
In his last news conference, the president was asked about a professor who was arrested following a report to the police about what appeared to be a home break-in.
It had been previously reported in the news that the professor found at the home refused initially to respond to a police request for identification and accused the officer of racism. Although he admitted up front that he did not have all the facts, the president said the police acted “stupidly.” The professor is demanding an apology.
We wonder instead if an apology is not due those who look at the president and the professor as role models.
