Rules: All tomatoes must be grown in Rowan County. There is no cost to enter the Top Tomato contest. Only tomatoes weighed at Patterson Farm, Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., or Salisbury Farmers Market, Wednesday and Saturday, 8-10 a.m., are eligible. Pictures of the tomatoes and their growers will be taken and some will be published in the Salisbury Post and its Web site, www.salisburypost. com. The winner of the contest will be announced Aug. 29 in the Salisbury Post and on the Patterson Farm Web site. No employee of the Salisbury Post or Patterson Farm is eligible. Vendors and professional growers are not eligible. The winner of the contest will receive $100. Contest runs through Aug. 22.
