Youth sports briefs: Lemmon, Burton compete for N.C. national team

Two members of the RoCo Wrestling team recently competed for the N.C. schoolboy national team at the National Dual Team Championships in Indianapolis.
Brandon Lemmon, a rising eighth-grader at West Rowan Middle wrestled at 112 pounds. J.C. Burton, a rising seventh-grader at Knox Middle, wrestled at 144.
Both wrestlers qualified for the national team by placing first at the N.C. Freestyle & Greco State Championships.
RoCo Wrestling finished second as a team at the state championships.
n South YMCA
The South Rowan YMCA is accepting registrations through July 18 for its youth baseball league.
The program is for ages 6-12 as of April 30 of this year. The three age divisions are 6-7coach pitch, 8-9 player pitch and 10-12 player pitch (12-year-olds cannot pitch). Games begin Aug. 3.
The cost is $36 for members and $60 for potential members.
