Agner – Beaver
MOORESVILLE ó Stephanie Lynn Agner and Jonathon Edward Beaver, both of China Grove, were united in marriage June 6, 2009, at The Quarry at Carrigan Farms.
The Rev. James Byers officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception.
The bride was escorted by her father, Mike Agner. Attending as her maid of honor was Michelle Sloop of Rockwell. Bridesmaids included Brooke Crowe of Salisbury, Ashleigh Parker of Charlotte and Crystal Andrews, Courtney Morris and Carrie Furr, all of Kannapolis. Sydney Gordon of Landis was junior bridesmaid.
Mark Beaver stood as his sonís best man. Groomsmen were Cameron Beaver, Matt Beaver and Derrick Morrison, all of China Grove, Matt Eaton of Kannapolis and Justin Moose of Concord.
Emily Sloop and Alison Sloop of Rockwell served as flower girls. Karson Sloop of Rockwell was ring bearer.
Program attendant was Kelly Hammond; guest register attendant was Misty Crowe; and candlelighter was Kevin Sloop.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Sandy Agner of China Grove and the granddaughter of the late Ernest and Ida Agner of China Grove and the late David and Delphine Brigman of Kannapolis. A 2003 graduate of South Rowan High School, Stephanie graduated from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 2007. She is an esthetician at Facelogic Spa.
The groom is the son of Mark and Julie Beaver of China Grove and the grandson of Dolph and Pat Castor of China Grove and Jimmy and Catherine Beaver of Kannapolis. A 2002 graduate of South Rowan High School, Jonathon is a distribution line technician for Duke Energy.
Following a cruise to the Caribbean, the couple are making their home in China Grove.
Alexander – Heggins
LANDIS ó Laura Diann Alexander of Kannapolis and William B. Heggins of Salisbury were united in marriage June 13, 2009, at First Reformed Church with Minister Darrick Leake officiating.
The bride was escorted by her father and attended by April Samples as maid of honor. Father of the groom was best man.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Mary Bratcher of East Spencer and Isaac and Annie Alexander of Kannapolis. Educated at Kingís College, Laura is employed by Cabarrus County Sheriffís Office.
The groom is the son of Johnnie and the late Bennie Mae Heggins of Salisbury. Educated at A&T State University, William is employed by Food Lion.
The couple are living in Kannapolis.
Correll Graduation
Amanda Leigh Correll of Salisbury graduated from Wake Forest University May 18, 2009, with a Master of Science in Health and Exercise Science.
A 2003 graduate of West Rowan High School, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007.
The daughter of Bob and Terri Correll of Salisbury, Amanda will be moving to Kingsville, Texas.
Childress Teacher of the Year
Elizabeth ěBethî Laughlin Childress, daughter of Mark and Diana Laughlin of Salisbury, was chosen Teacher of the Year at Greenville Academy Middle School in Greenville, S.C.
Beth is a 1998 graduate of East Rowan High School and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She studied language at the University of Granada, Spain.
This is her fourth year teaching Spanish at Greenville Academy. She previously taught for two years at Madison Middle School in Madison County, N.C.
Beth and her husband Stephen reside in Greenville.
Daniels Graduation
Julie Shell Daniels of Salisbury graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham May 9, 2009, with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing, also receiving Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification.
A 1990 graduate of South Rowan High School, Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has accepted a position at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C., as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her family will relocate this fall.
The daughter of Michael and Judy Shell of China Grove, she is the wife of Alan Daniels; mother of son Blake Daniels, 10, and daughter Jensen Daniels, 6; and stepmother of Reid Daniels, 21.
Duggan – Carlyle
Mrs. Mary Duggan of Gold Hill is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Lauren Marie Duggan, to Dustin Heath Carlyle, both of Concord.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Randy Duggan and the granddaughter of Virginia and the late Joseph Cannavo and Angelo and the late Jeanette Bonomo, all of Gold Hill. A 2005 graduate of East Rowan High School, Lauren is a student in the early childhood education program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She is a manager at Chick-fil-a in Salisbury.
The future groom is the son of Ms. Maxine Carlyle of Salisbury and the grandson of Norma and the late Max Scoggins and the late John and Sylvia Carlyle, all of Salisbury. Educated at East Rowan High School, Dustin is studying heating and air cooling at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He is employed by OíCharleys in Salisbury.
The wedding is Aug. 8 at Hurley Park in Salisbury.
