Reasons to Relay
Today’s the day, the much-awaited beginning of Rowan County’s Relay for Life, though in many ways it has been going on all year. Relay for Life draws thousands to the Rowan County Fairgrounds to fight a common enemy: cancer. Through a series of columns in the Post, participants have touchingly related how cancer has touched their lives. Family after family, neighborhood by neighborhood, everyone knows someone close who has struggled with cancer. Money raised at events like Relay fund research that improves treatment and holds out hope for a cure. Those are tremendous reasons to support Relay for Life.
