Antosek – Allman

Louis and Carmelita Antosek of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Michelle Antosek, to Luke Foster Allman, also of Salisbury.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Margaret and the late Joseph Antosek of Salisbury and Mae and the late Alvin Poole of Rockwell. A 2005 honor graduate of East Rowan High School, Anna graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. With licensures in elementary education, health education and family and consumer science education, Anna is a second grade teacher at China Grove Elementary School.
The future groom is the son of Tab and Teia Allman of Rockwell and Karen Allman of Salisbury and the grandson of Frank and Joyce Saye of Leesburg, Fla., Sam and Brenda Allman of Rockwell and Kathy and the late Jimmy Jones of Rockwell. A 2005 graduate of East Rowan High School, Luke earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from UNCW in 2008. He is a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The couple will marry July 25 at Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College.

Benfield 50th Anniversary

Van Benfield and Mary Jo Benfield of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 12, 2009, at a family gathering hosted by their children. The Benfields were married March 12, 1959, at the Lackland Air Force Base Chapel in San Antonio,Texas.
Retired from Kimberly Clark, Van is now employed at Corbin Hills Golf Club. Mary Jo retired from Suntrust Bank and is presently employed at Food Lion Credit Association.
Their children are Sandra Benfield Bradley and Paul B. Benfield, both of Salisbury. They have three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ghomizadeh – Allen

Hamid M. Ghomizadeh of Salisbury and Joan P. Kazemi of Alpharetta, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elle Marie Ghomizadeh of Charlotte, to Todd Christopher Allen, also of Charlotte.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Marie G. and the late Robert F. Pugh of Salisbury and the late Mohammad A. and Azat K. Ghomizadeh. A 2000 graduate of The Brenau Academy, Elle received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a minor in Business Administration and Law from Western Carolina University in 2004. She is a Sourcing Analyst for The Shaw Group in Charlotte.
The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Allen of Spartanburg, S.C., and the grandson of Mae B. and the late E. Lamar Bowen of Greer, S.C., and the late James T. and Lizzie Belle Allen of Spartanburg, S.C. A 1994 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Todd received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University in 1999. He is employed by Banc of America Securities, LLC as Vice President of Fixed Income Institutional Sales.
The wedding is May 16 at The Green Uptown in Charlotte.

Goodman – Culp

Richard Goodman of China Grove and Keith and Lisa Sprinkle of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Marie Goodman of China Grove, to Brian Jackson Culp, also of China Grove.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Lynnie Goodman of China Grove and Lewis and Nell Moose of Rockwell. A 2001 graduate of South Rowan High School and 2002 graduate of Southeastern School of Massage, Tara owns and operates Body Clinic of Concord.
The future groom is the son of Benny Culp and Pam Culp, both of Salisbury, and the grandson of Betty Culp of East Spencer and Dot Gobbel of Spencer. A 1994 graduate of North Rowan High School, Brian owns and operates Brianís Grill of China Grove.
The wedding is May 2 at Rowan Shrine Club in Salisbury.

Honeycutt – Vaughan

Thomas and Wanda Honeycutt of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Brooke Honeycutt, to Robert Alex Vaughan, both of Fuquay-Varina.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gertha and the late Thomas Honeycutt Sr. and Pete and Till Brown, all of Salisbury. A 2002 graduate of North Rowan High School, Lauren graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory in 2006. She is a kindergarten teacher with the Wake County Public School System.
The future groom is the son of Keith and Patricia Vaughan of Salisbury and the grandson of the late Owen and Edith Vaughan of Scotland Neck and Helen and the late Joseph Barber of Mooresville. A 2002 graduate of W.G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, Robert graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 2006. He is an accountant with Caterpillar, Inc.
The couple will wed Saturday, May 16 at First Baptist Church of Salisbury.

Luke – Mauriello

ASHEVILLE ó Celeste Embry Luke of Winston-Salem and Nicholas Adam Mauriello of Cleveland were united in marriage Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Grace Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Linda Nye officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony, with brothers of the bride Keith Luke of Oxford, Miss., and William Luke of Starksville, Miss., serving as Eucharist ministers. A reception followed in the churchís Parish Hall.
The bride was escorted by her father, Larry Keith Luke. Sarah Anne Moore of Madison, Miss., attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Emily Lane of New York, N.Y., Krystyn Wagner of Raleigh and Claire Wilkerson of Mount Pilot.
Brother of the groom Christopher Mauriello of Binghamton, N.Y., stood as best man. Groomsmen included brother of the groom Michael Mauriello of Newport News, Va., Kenneth Radford of Raleigh and Nathan Watkins of Asheville.
Jamie Lane of Atlanta, Ga., served as intercessor. Megan Miller of Asheville and Maggie Smith of Raleigh served as lectors.
Ceremony music was provided by organist Dr. Phillip Burgess of Salisbury and vocalist Joseph Luke of Madison, Miss., brother of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Keith Luke of Madison, Miss., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey Lane of Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Ivy Keith Luke of Brandon, Miss. A 2003 graduate of Madison Central High School, Celeste received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Teaching Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2007. A Summit Orientation intern, she was a member of Psi Chi and the Psychology Honor Society and was a University Ambassador and the campus gym manager. Celeste is a third grade teacher at Ward Elementary School in Winston-Salem.
The groom is the son of David and Helen Beaver Schick and the grandson of Elizabeth W. and the late Roy Beaver, all of Cleveland. A 2004 graduate of West Rowan High School, Nicholas received a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Teaching Certificate from UNC-A in 2008. An honor student and N.C. Teaching Fellow, he was a member of national classics honor society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Eta Sigma Phi and an N.C. Junior Classic League volunteer. He will be employed at Orange County High School in Hillsborough.
The couple are making their home in Winston-Salem.

Richards – Mayberry

Kurt and Deva Richards of La Jolla, Calif., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Gillian Richards, to Matthew David Mayberry, son of David and Jewell Mayberry of Salisbury.
The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of La Jolla High School and received a degree in marketing from the University of Georgia in 2007. She is a dockmaster assistant at San Diego Yacht Club.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of West Rowan High School and received a degree in construction technology from Appalachian State University in 2007. He is a project manager for Geogrid Construction in San Diego.
The wedding is April 4 at The Grande Colonial in La Jolla.

Ritchie 50th Anniversary

Carl Eugene Ritchie and Marcia Lee Allen Ritchie of Gold Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 14, 2009, at an anniversary party including renewal of their wedding vows held at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
The Ritchies were married March 14, 1959, at the Court House in New Britain, Conn., by Justice of the Peace Samuel S. Googel.
Both retired, Carl was a Chief Radio Man in the U.S. Navyís Submarine Service for 21 years. Marcia was a bookkeeper for Atlantic Petroleum for 27 years.
The coupleís children are Debbie Ritchie McDaniel and husband Mal, Glenn Ritchie and wife Navonda, Brian Ritchie and Craig Ritchie and wife Tracy.
They have seven grandchildren, Marcus and Morgan McDaniel of Kannapolis; Ashley and Dustin Ritchie of Gold Hill; Taylor and Emma Ritchie of Salisbury; and Aaron Ritchie of Salisbury.
