Homecoming Queen
Taylor Paige Arey, daughter of Kim H. and Laura Arey of Salisbury, has been selected finalist for North Carolina’s 29th annual Homecoming Queen selection to be held March 14 and 15 at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park in Charlotte.
She is the East Rowan High School homecoming queen.
North Carolina’s 2009 Homecoming Queen will receive a cash scholarship plus an expense-paid trip to the national finals to compete with queens from the other states for America’s Homecoming Queen.
America’s Homecoming Queen Inc. is a nonprofit organization promoting education, educational travel and community service in all 50 states.
Yawn Patrol
Yawn Patrol Zone Toastmasters met March 3 at United Cabarrus Insurance. Ken Carroll was toastmaster. Toni Stovall was voted Best Speaker and Best Table Topics and Ann Carroll was voted Best Evaluator.
The club’s annual International Speech and Table Topics Contest will be held at the March 17 meeting and the public is invited to attend.
