Bouk – Richmond

Dr. John and Mrs. Joy Steele, Jr., of Cleveland are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lydia Anne Steele Bouk, to Aaron Patrick Richmond of Charlotte.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late OíNeil and Katherine Hutcheson and the late John and Eulalia Steele. A 1996 graduate of West Rowan High School and 2000 graduate of Catawba College, Lydia received a Master of English Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006. She is an English and Journalism teacher at West Rowan High School.
The future groom is the son of Patrick and Christina Richmond of Troutman and grandson of Eva Dingeldey of Silver Creek, N.Y., the late Malcolm Richmond and the late Dick and Lena Quinn. A 1993 graduate of Silver Creek Central School and 1998 graduate of Fredonia State Univeristy, Aaron received a Master in Curriculum and Instruction from Phoenix University in 2008. He is a math teacher at West Rowan High School.
The wedding is April 4 at Third Creek Presbyterian Church.

Brawley – Burnette

Harry and Janet Brawley of China Grove are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Lane Brawley, to Lonnie Marshall Burnette, both of Kannapolis.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jewel Lowder of China Grove. A 1999 graduate of South Rowan High School and 2003 graduate of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, Heather is a registered nurse at Universal Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
The future groom is the son of Gary and Ann Sullivan of Kannapolis. A 1987 graduate of Northwest High School, Lonnie is self-employed in construction and maintenance work.
The couple will wed April 18 at First Baptist Church in China Grove.

Dancy – Lowman

Vickie Hamilton and Sherrill Dancy of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, April Dawn Dancy, to Christopher Arnette Lowman Jr., also of Salisbury.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Ruby Heilig of Salisbury. A 2005 graduate of East Rowan High School, April is a full-time student in the nursing program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and is employed part-time at Farrington Family Medical Center.
The future groom is the son of Chris Lowman Sr. and Jewel Greene and the grandson of Linda and G.A. Lowman and Jean and James Brown, all of Salisbury. Educated at East Rowan High School, Chris is employed by Pike Electric Company.
The couple will wed Saturday, March 7 at Providence United Methodist Church.

Hall – Rigau

Gregory and Sarah Hall of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Katherine Hall, to Damian Jorge Rigau, son of Jorge and Jackie Rigau of Atlanta, Ga.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of West Rowan High School and has a degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. She is employed by The Suzuki School in Atlanta.
The future groom graduated from high school in Wilkesboro and graduated from Appalachian with a degree in Political Science with a concentration in pre-professional legal studies. He currently works as an accounts manager for CompuCredit in Duluth, Ga.
The wedding will be April 4 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Salisbury. The couple will be making their home in Atlanta.

Hall – Wenzel

PINELAND, Fla. ó Mary Elizabeth Hall and Christopher Michael Wenzel were united in marriage on Nov. 15, 2008, at the Tarpon Lodge, a restored historic fishing lodge on the Gulf coast. The Rev. William Klossner officiated the outdoor ceremony which was held at 4:00 in the afternoon. The reception was held immediately afterwards in the Lodge.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph Cullen and Pamela Rhyne Hall and the granddaughter of Mrs. Catherine Cheek Hall and the late Dr. J. Cullen Hall of Salisbury, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde J. Rhyne and the late Eunice Borders Rhyne of Sanford, N.C. She graduated from West Rowan High School in 1999, Wake Forest University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and a minor in French, and earned an Associate of Arts degree in interior design from Central Piedmont Community College in 2006. She is a designer in Port Charlotte, Fla.
The groom is the son of Robert F. and Janet Tracy Wenzel of Port Charlotte and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Tracy of Aurora, Ohio, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wenzel of Sarasota, Fla. He graduated in 1995 from Holderness School in Plymouth, N.H., and was a magna cum laude graduate from Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He is the vice-president and general manager of Peace River Distributing in Punta Gorda, Fla.
The bride was escorted by her father and attended by her sisters, Miss Marjorie Catherine Hall of Wilmington and Miss Rebecca Leigh Hall of Raleigh, as maids of honor. College friends Miss Beth Holland of Wilkesboro, Mrs. Erin Dutton of Raleigh and Dr. Christie Miller of Winston-Salem were bridesmaids.
Dr. Bryan Goldstein of Ann Arbor, Mich., college friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Ethan Adams of Port Charlotte and Mr. Andrew Fritsch and Mr. Charles Hussey, both of Punta Gorda.
Miss Leslie Hall of Durham, N.C., and Miss Kara Burns of Sanford were program attendants, and Miss Amber Burns of Sanford served as guest registrar. Mr. Dylan Morgan of Skagway, Alaska, and Mr. Curt Burns of Sanford assisted as parking attendants. All are cousins of the bride.
Music was provided by cellist Julie Cornwall and violinists Margo Zarazycka and Rachel Cox.
The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and all out-of-town relatives and guests at the Veranda in Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday evening. The bride, her mother and grandmother also honored the attendants Friday with a luncheon for all the ladies at nearby Cabbage Key.
A February honeymoon trip to Belize is planned, after which the couple will reside in Punta Gorda.

Lee – Penegar

Mr. and Mrs. David Lawhon Lee of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Smith Lee of Wilmington, to Samuel Edward Penegar III, also of Wilmington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edward Penegar, Jr. of Salisbury.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. Cameron Wadell Lee and the late Mrs. Helen Smith Lawhon Lee of Wake Forest, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Crowell Dobbins of Salisbury and the late Mr. James Hal Dobbins of Wake Forest. A 2002 graduate of Salisbury High School, Kathryn received a Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2007, where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority and the Student North Carolina Association for Educators (SNCAE). Kathryn is a third-grade teacher at Ogden Elementary in Wilmington.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edward Penegar, Sr. of Atlantic Beach and the late Mr. and Mrs. Murray Michael Belk, of Salisbury. A 2000 graduate of Salisbury High School, Tre received a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Appalachian State University in 2005, where he was a member of the International Geographical Honors Society. Tre is a Geographical Information Systems Analyst at Atlas Geographic Data in Wilmington.
The wedding will be held October 10 at First Presbyterian Church in Historic Downtown Wilmington.

Carl Rabon of Salisbury, left, celebrated his 99th birthday Jan. 10, 2009. Husband of the late Zula Miller Rabon, Carl has eight children; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Strickland – Ackerman

Mr. and Mrs. James A. Strickland, Sr. of Goldsboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Nancy Louise Strickland of China Grove, to Mark Alan Ackerman of Concord, the son of Susanne Ackerman of Orange Park, Fla., and the late Ben Ackerman.
The wedding is March 27 at The Lakes in Kannapolis.
