North Rowan’s boys scored only five points in the first quarter and never got going in a 61-35 loss to East Davidson on Friday night.
D.J. Hipps scored 11 points to lead the Cavs (6-13, 3-7 CCC), and Lamonte Bell added 10. North was outscored 25-11 in the fourth quarter.

North Rowan’s girls lost 67-35 to unbeaten East Davidson on Friday.
Quon Cuthbertson led the Cavs (3-16, 1-9 CCC) with 14 points. Teaunna Cuthbertson had nine, and Symphony Roberts added seven.
East (20-0, 10-0) played without Anna Freeman and was led by Alyssa Cutshaw’s 13 points.

Davie County’s boys lost 69-64 to West Forsyth in a close CPC game.
Down two, Davie had the ball with 45 seconds left. Trying to get the ball inside to freshman center Shannon Dillard, who scored six of his eight points in the fourth quarter, the War Eagles turned the ball over. The Titans made free throws at the end.
Drew Absher led Davie (5-14, 1-5) with 22 points, including four 3s. Jamal Mayfield scored 11 points.

Salisbury’s girls defeated West Davidson 62-25 on Friday. Doreen Richardson scored 21 for the Hornets (13-1, 8-1). Carrie Thompson added 17, Najwa Allison 12 and Ayana Hicks 10.
Salisbury’s boys got 15 points apiece from Dejoun Jones and Tion McCain in a 68-22 win over the Green Dragons. The Hornets improved to 12-3 overall and 8-2 in the league.
n Rockwell Christian hoopsRockwell’s varsity boys finished the season 5-2 after defeating Bible Baptist 72-24 in Matthews.
Nathan Funderburke led Rockwell with 13 points. Josh Cummings and Ben Patterson each had 11.
Jacob Swinson scored 19 as Rockwell beat Tabernacle Monroe 74-42. Cummings and Patterson each had 10.
The Chargers won 38-27 over Calvary King. Cummings had 16 points and 15 rebounds.
The conference tournament begins next week.
– The varsity girls fell 34-21 to Bible Baptist despite 18 points from Alyssa Hendren. She had 23 in a 50-29 loss to Tabernacle and 16 in a 52-18 loss to Calvary.
– The Rockwell jayvee boys beat Bible Baptist 58-30 behind 14 points from Andrew Brown. Benjamin Odom had 12 and Alex Straight scored 11.Straight and Odom each scored 13 in a 54-36 win over Tabernacle.
Straight had nine in a 35-17 win over Calvary.

Rebecca Cope, Jo Jo Chavis and Emerson Hayes led Davidson County Country Day School’s jayvee girls past Greensboro’s Lady of Grace 34-29.
– The middle school boys lost to Lady of Grace 44-41. Connor Honeycutt led the way with nine points, followed by Harrison Baucom with eight and Devin Perry with seven.

Baseball is $40 for coach-pitch and T-ball (ages 5-8). The cost is $60 for ages 9-10, 11-12 and $70 for 13-14.
League age is as of April 30, 2009.
The softball cost is $40 for girls 8-under for coach-pitch (ages 6-8). Cost is $60 for ages 10-U, 12-U and 14-U. League age is as of Dec. 31, 2008.

Registration continues until Feb. 8 for boys basketball in grades 2-12.
A Disney-sponsored knockout game is set for Feb. 12 for ages 6-12. The first 75 entered receive a free wristband. The winner gets a Disney XD basketball.
The Jr. NBA-WNBA skills challenge is Feb. 17. There is no cost.
