Power Point: Lucy ń “I would like to change the world.”
Charlie Brown ń”Where would you like to start?”
Lucy ń “I would start with you!”
Power Thought ń It’s not uncommon for leaders to feel this way. Change can be an ugly word in any organization, and too often the temptation is to change people instead of systems. Change resistance is overcome when a climate of trust is built within the organization. The more people in the organization trust the leader, the more they are willing to embrace the idea of change.

Power Surge: If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his true friend. Next, probe to discover what he wants to accomplish.

Power Point: My friend is the one who brings out the best in me.
Henry Ford
Power Thought ń Good leaders are always looking for ways to bring out the best in their people. It’s important to be an encouragement to those around you. As you motivate the people around you it will become contagious. Imagine a workplace that is infected with enthusiasm and encouragement? In that atmosphere, productivity thrives and everyone wins. Try it!

Power Surge: People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Power Point: Lord, deliver me from the man who never makes a mistake, and also from the man who makes the same mistake twice.
Dr. William Mayo
Power Thought: We are all prone to making mistakes, aren’t we? I’ve made my share of them and I’m sure you have too. While there are many factors that cause us to make mistakes, I’d say a negative attitude has to rank right up there when it comes to ways to prevent making the same mistake twice. Our attitude determines our altitude. Which way are you headed?

Power Surge: A chip on the shoulder indicates that there is wood higher up.

Power Point: No man can climb out of the limitations of his own character.
John Morley
Power Thought: A leader’s ability to take the organization to the next level is a matter of trust. Talent alone will not do it if the leader does not garner the trust of the people around him. When a leader’s character is strong there is hope in the hearts of those who follow. People buy into the leader before they buy into his vision. Strong character builds strong organizations; these are the building blocks of success.
Doug Dickerson
Power Surge: Trust is a treasured item and relationship. Once it is tarnished, it is hard to restore it to its original glow.

Power Point: There are many things that will catch my eye, but there are only a few things that will catch my heart.
Tim Redmond
Power Thought: One of the hardest things to do as a leader is to keep the main thing the main thing. Many good things may capture my eye, but few will capture my heart. In your organization it’s your duty as the leader to keep the focus on the main thing. Leadership expert John Maxwell describes them as the three R’s; what is required, what gives the greatest return, and what brings the greatest reward. Focus on these things.
Doug Dickerson
Power Surge: A leader is the one who climbs the tallest tree, surveys the entire situation, and yells, ‘Wrong jungle'”
Stephen Covey
