ATLANTA ó Salisbury native Tyrese Rice scored 24 of his 26 points after the first half, including six points in overtime, and Boston College recovered after blowing a big lead in the second half to beat Georgia Tech 80-76 on Tuesday night.
Corey Raji also had six points in overtime for Boston College.
The Eagles blew a 14-point lead in the second half before recovering to give Georgia Tech its third overtime loss in five ACC games.
Boston College (14-6, 2-3) snapped a four-game losing streak. Georgia Tech (9-9, 0-5) remains the only ACC team without a conference victory.
Iman Shumpert led Georgia Tech with 16 points. Gani Lawal had 14 points.
Rice scored his team’s last four points in regulation to force overtime.
With Boston College leading 76-74, Peacock threw the ball away to set up a driving layup by Rice with 20.5 seconds left in regulation. Rice added two free throws with 6.6 seconds left.
It was Boston College’s first win since beating North Carolina on Jan. 4.
Maryland 84, Virginia 78
COLLEGE PARK, Md. ó Adrian Bowie and Landon Milbourne each scored 17, and Maryland frittered away most of a 17-point lead before escaping with an 84-78 victory over Virginia.
Eric Hayes had 10 points and 11 assists, his first career double-double, and Greivis Vasquez scored 16 for the Terrapins (13-5, 2-2 ACC.
Maryland never trailed, but couldn’t pull away in the 400th ACC victory in school history.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. ó Mike Tisdale scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half for Illinois, which won its first game this season with a national ranking.
On Monday, the Illini (16-3, 4-2 Big Ten) made their first appearance in The Associated Press’ Top 25 since the final poll of 2005-06. It was the Illini’s first win over the Buckeyes (13-4, 3-3) in six games.
