OTTAWA ó Dany Heatley, Dean McAmmond and Mike Fisher scored as the Ottawa Senators stopped a five-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
Joe Corvo scored on a power play in the second period for Carolina, which has lost three straight. Cam Ward, pulled after allowing three goals in a 5-1 loss at Boston on Saturday, stopped 35 shots in his ninth straight start for the Hurricanes.

WASHINGTON ó Erik Cole had three goals as Edmonton handed the Capitals their third consecutive loss. Gilbert Brule added a goal and an assist.
Bruins 3, Canadiens 1
BOSTON ó Zdeno Chara scored a pair of power-play goals, and Tim Thomas stopped 34 shots.
The Bruins were without three of their top forwards, losing Phil Kessel to mononucleosis, Marco Sturm to a knee injury and Milan Lucic to an undisclosed injury.

COLUMBUS, Ohio ó Kristian Huselius had a goal and two assists to help lead Columbus to its third straight win.

TORONTO ó Steve Sullivan had his first NHL point in almost two years to help Nashville shut out Toronto.
Playing just his second game of the season after missing the entire 2007-08 season and half of this season with a back injury, Sullivan assisted on the game-winning goal by Radek Bonk in the third period.

PHILADELPHIA ó Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal each scored, and Sidney Crosby had a pair of assists.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. ó Chris Drury and Nigel Dawes scored 1:56 apart in the second period to send the rival Islanders to their fifth straight loss.
