Ramsey Birth

Jaxon Alden Ramsey was born Nov. 14, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast in Concord. He weighed 9 lbs and was 21-1/2 inches long. He is the son of Rita Phelps Ramsey and John Ramsey of Mount Ulla. His grandparents are Freddy and LuAnn Phelps, Rockwell, Jack and Pat Ramsey, Salisbury. His great-grandparents are Jean Phelps, Salisbury, Clyde and June Barringer, Rockwell, John and Louise Artz, Salisbury, and Jack and Glenda Ramsey, Salisbury.

File 50th Anniversary

Norman Luther File and Effie Worrell File are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Dec. 21, 1958, at Trading Ford Baptist Church in Salisbury by the Rev. R.N. Huneycutt. Norman retired from Duke Energyís Buck Steam Station, and Effie retired from the Rowan-Salisbury School System. Their children are Lane of Concord and children Paul, Marianne and Christine; Tony and wife Lisa of Denver, N.C., and children Allison and Madison; and Brent and wife Julie of Salisbury and children Isabella and Gabrielle. The Files are celebrating with a dinner at Cardinal Squares Square Dance Club and will vacation during the Christmas holidays in the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge-Sevierville, Tenn., area.
