College hoops: Liberty upsets Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. ó Kyle Ohman and Seth Curry scored 26 points each to help Liberty knock off Virginia 86-82 on Tuesday.Sammy Zeglinski led the Cavs (3-1) with 24 points, and Sylven Landesberg added 17. Mike Scott finished with a game-high 17 rebounds.
Clemson 81, Savannah St. 49
CLEMSON, S.C. ó Trevor Booker and Terrence Oglesby scored 17 points.
Raymond Sykes added 14 points and seven rebounds.
Savannah State (4-1) outscored Clemson 17-3 at the start of the second half to cut a 22-point halftime deficit to 44-36 with 14:40 remaining. But Clemson finished with a 31-9 run to put the game away.
Clemson is off to a 6-0 start for the fourth straight season under Oliver Purnell.
Ga. Tech 74, Ark-Pine Bluff 47
ATLANTA ó Gani Lawal and Alade Aminu combined for 30 points and 20 rebounds.Georgia Tech point guard Moe Miller was unable to play after sustaining a concussion in an overtime win at Mercer last weekend.
Coach Paul Hewitt moved freshman shooting guard Iman Shumpert to Miller’s spot. Sophomore sixth man Lance Storrs, making his first career start, replaced Shumpert at shooting guard.
Shumpert finished with 12 points, eight assists and five assists in 28 minutes.
S. Carolina 85, Gardner-Webb 70
COLUMBIA, S.C. ó Devan Downey scored a season-high 25 points for USC.
Grayson Flittner led the Bulldogs (0-4) with 19 points.
Texas A&M 84, UNCW 65
COLLEGE STATION, Texas ó Chinemelu Elonu had 18 points and had 11 rebounds in the second round of the South Padre Invitational.Chad Tomko scored a game-high 21 points for UNC Wilmington (2-3).
Wofford 74, UNC-Asheville 69
SPARTANBURG, S.C. ó Junior Salters scored 20 points to lift Wofford.
Reid Augst had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs (3-2).
