*Time: 7:30 p.m.
*Records: South 4-6, 4-4 NPC; North Iredell 2-8, 2-6 NPC
*Series: South leads 5-0
*Last meeting: South handled the visitors from Olin 28-7 at Donnell Stadium in 2007
*Last week: South Rowan was buried 56-7 by West Rowan; North Iredell lost to Lake Norman 41-19
*Next week: South is a lock for the 3A bracket, although it’s probably headed to play someone very good a long way from home; North Iredell should be done after tonight even if it upsets the Raiders.
*Home and road splits: South is 2-3 on the road and has won its last two road outings at Carson and Lake Norman; North Iredell is 1-3 at home.
*Scoring: South has scored 162 points while North Iredell has 122.
*Defense: South has allowed 205 points while North Iredell has permitted 268. South’s defensive numbers have taken a hit the last two weeks, with Mooresville and West Rowan putting 91 points on the Raiders.
*Game notes: South has to shake off the pummeling it took from West Rowan and get back down to business.
A win tonight would be South’s fifth and would be the most the Raiders have managed since 2004.
South was missing several key linemen last week.
More Raiders, including fullback Steve Sexton and defensive back Mark McDaniel, got banged up against the Falcons.
South players such as DB Quan Glaspy and receiver Anthony Bowles will be counted on tonight because South can’t take a victory for granted. North Iredell won twice in October, beating Carson on the road and East Rowan at home behind a good defense led by Ben Haynes.
South junior QB Blake Houston has 944 yards of total offense.
