Friday Night Preview: Mooresville at West Rowan

*Time: 7:30 p.m.
*Records: Mooresville 8-2, 7-1 NPC; West Rowan 9-1, 8-0 NPC
*Series: Mooresville leads 21-17, including a split of two playoff meetings. Mooresville won in 2000. The Falcons prevailed in 2005.
*Last meeting: West won a 19-13 struggle on Mooresville’s new turf in 2007.nLast week: Mooresville beat West Iredell 44-14; Falcons manhandled South Rowan 56-7.
*Next week: Mooresville, which is headed to 4A in 2009, will be in the 3AA playoffs. West will likely be in the 3A bracket.
*Home and road splits: Mooresville is 3-1 on the road; West is 5-0 at home.
*Scoring: Blue Devils have scored 318 points. West has scored 425.
nDefense: Mooresville has allowed 160 points. West has given up 94.
*Game notes: West has clinched a share of its fifth straight NPC title, but it would like to make it an outright crown. West shared the 2004 crown with A.L. Brown, but it’s been the undisputed champion the last three seasons.
Second-place Mooresville shares the title with a victory tonight.
With apologies to West Iredell’s outstanding Shrine Bowl pick Quan Rucker, the NPC’s two dominant players will be on the field tonight. Mooresville senior back Jjshaun Pinkston has rolled all season and so has West’s K.P. Parks.
Parks, a junior, went over 6,000 career rushing yards last week and has scored 85 touchdowns.
Parks gets attention ó and rightly so ó but the Falcons have good players everywhere, including linebacker Josh Poe and receiver Jonathan Hill.
Counting the 2005 playoff game, West has beaten Mooresville six straight times since 2002.
