– An article in Wednesday’s edition concerning the 12th District U.S. Congressional seat had incorrect figures. Incumbent Rep. Mel Watt carried the county, where 20 precincts are in the district. Republican challenger Ty Cobb Jr., of Rockwell, carried 12 of the 20 precincts and had the most votes at four early voting sites. Overall in Rowan County, Watt polled 15,054 votes to 12,699 for Cobb.
