The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold nine public hearings across the state beginning in January.
The hearing for wildlife district 6, which includes Rowan, Stanly, Davidson, Montgomery, Moore, Anson, Richmond, Union, Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties, will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at South Stanly High School in Norwood.
Proposed regulations will be explained and opened for public comment. Hunters, fishermen, trappers and anyone concerned with wise management of the state’s natural resources is urged to attend. Suggestions and proposals can be given in writing or expressed in person at these meetings. Large crowds are expected to be on hand to discuss possible changes to deer season and turkey season.
