* Time: 7:30 p.m.
* Records: East Rowan 1-7, 0-6 NPC; North Iredell 1-7, 1-5 NPC
* Series: East leads 10-4
* Last meeting: Mustangs cruised 30-6 in 2007
* Last week: East was flattened 69-0 by West Rowan; North Iredell beat Carson 10-6 for its first league victory
* Next week: East is home against Northwest Cabarrus; North Iredell is at Lake Norman
* Game notes: East ranks 10th in the NPC in offense and defense in conference games, so itís no surprise the Mustangs are winless in the league.
North Iredell ranks ninth on offense and eighth on defense in NPC league contests.
For the second straight season, North Iredell beat Carson in its eighth game for its first victory.
East has lost six in a row since beating winless North Rowan early.
East didnít do much right against West Rowan on Friday in the rain, and it can get ugly fast when you turn it over against the Falcons.
East had given up 69 points only one previous time, and that was in a 69-21 loss to A.L. Brown in 2001.
The previous most lopsided loss for the Mustangs was a 62-0 setback to the Wonders in 2002, so quite a few school records were rewritten Friday.
Ben DeCelle is playing well for East and has 32 receptions for 472 yards. He has a shot at Eastís record for most receptions during a regular season. Jon Bost had 43 in 1988.
The school record for receptions in a season, counting playoffs, is Johnny Yarbroughís 58 in 1969, but itís unlikely East will have to worry about playoff records this season.
East will look for a good game from QB Trevor Monroe, and it can beat North Iredell if players such as Wesley Rivers win the battles in the trenches.
