TYRO óWest Davidson bounced back from last week’s loss to Salisbury by defeating Ledford 28-14 Friday.
Defense scored the first touchdown for the Green Dragons (5-3, 3-1, CCC). Shawn Swing ran a fumble back 31 yards.
The offense took it from there. Patrick Phelps gave West a 14-0 lead at halftime on a 1-yard run. Alex Grubb added a 3-yard scoring run in the third quarter and William Rankin finished the scoring with a 53-yard sprint in the fourth.
Ledford (5-3, 2-2) had a tough time stopping Grubb, who finished with 101 yards on 19 carries.
West Davidson travels to Lexington next week.
