A daughter, Ah’zanae I’yana, was born to Deanna Scott and Freddie Broadway Jr. of Salisbury on Sept. 11, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces. She has a sister, Monasha Scott, 3. Grandparents are Fatima Gibson of Salisbury, Tawana and Odell Stinson of Spencer, and Freddie Broadway Sr. of Linwood. Great-grandparents are Theresa and James Shaver of Salisbury and Mary Lou Wilkerson of Linwood.
Lucy Jones
A daughter, Lucy Kate, was born to Cybil and Kevin Jones of Salisbury on Sept. 19, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces. She has a sister, Ella, 2. Grandparents are Gary and Carol Walter, Jenny and Steve Jones and Barry and Glenda Dyson, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Barbara Thomason and Grady and Elaine Dyson, all of Salisbury, and Earlene Jones of Fairmont.
Jaxon Perry
A son, Jaxon Rex, was born to Thomas Michael Perry Jr. and Carla Fesperman Perry of Salisbury, on June 12, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center- NorthEast. He weighed 11 pounds, 6 ounces. He has a brother, Thomas Logan, 6, and a sister, Haileigh Breanne Hollifield, 8. Grandparents are Ronnie and Sharon Fesperman and Mike and Ronda Perry, all of Salisbury, and Amy Walsh of Winnsboro, S.C. Great-grandparents are Mary Whitler of Salisbury, and Doris Walsh of Winnsboro.
Kenzey Smith
A daughter, Kenzey Hope, was born to Jason B. and Diane K. Smith of Salisbury on Sept. 11, 2008, at Davis Regional Medical Center, Statesville. She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces. She has a sister, Lea, 9. Grandparents are Jimmy and Helen Kinley of Woodleaf, and Darrell and Debbie Smith of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Harley and Virginia Kinley of Woodleaf, Grace Reynolds of China Grove, and Harold Smith of Salisbury.
Sophia Cline
A daughter, Sophia Suzanne, was born to Matt and Priscilla Owen Cline of Salisbury, on Sept. 9, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. She weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces. She has a brother, Owen Michael, 4. Grandparents are Michael and Susan Owen, Mike and Julie Cline, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Anne Bradshaw of Hendersonville and Leon and Rozelle Owen and Velma Cline, all of Salisbury.
Abe’Briana Allen
A daughter, Abe’Briana S., was born to Diane Sanders and Abe Allen Jr. of Salisbury on June 20, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 8 pounds. She has a brother, Alan Vann Jr., 16, and three sisters, Tamera and Tamiya Sanders and Taylor Bailey. Grandparents are Laverne Sanders, Mitch Wood, Shirley Robinson, Abe and Sharon Allen, all of Salisbury. Beck Robinson is great-grandparent.
Jaden Hurst
A son, Jaden Drake, was born to Cheri and Joe Hurst of Rockwell on July 9, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. He has a brother, Jackson, 6. Grandparents are Linda and Jim Basinger of Richfield and Terry and Claudia Young, Edna Hurst and J.D. Hurst, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Geraldine Layton of Concord and Janet Young of Faith.Rainey Mangan

Emery Corl
A daughter, Emery Mae, was born to Matthew and Ashley Corl of Rockwell on Aug. 21, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 6 pounds, 3.5 ounces. She has a brother, the late Nolan Matthews Cornelison. Grandparents are Matthew and Kimberlie Edens of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Bruce Cornelison of Gold Hill, Alan and Debbie File and Randy and Belinda Corl, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Bill and Alice Walker of China Grove, Tim Loflin Sr., Johnnie and Lorene File and Paul and Carolyn Cornelison, all of Salisbury, Opal Corl of Rockwell, Perry and Emma Leach of Gold Hill, Gary and Cathy Miller of Diamond Bar, Calif., and John and Margaret Beaver of Mount Ulla.
