The Land Trust for Central Carolina took these simple steps to save energy and expense. They:
– Schedule out-of-town meetings together so fewer trips are necessary.
– Turned their thermostat up one degree for the summer.
– Transitioned their board meetings into conference calls. Out-of-town board members no longer drive to town.
– Reduced the number of board meetings to fewer, longer meetings. Those who do drive, drive less frequently.
– Hold committee meetings by phone whenever possible.
– Print on both sides of the paper.
– Keep copies electronically whenever possible; print only when necessary.
– Purchased an economic car (38 miles per gallon) for company trips.
