A son, Grayson Jack, was born to Joshua Dean Clawson and Cassie Camille Clawson of Salisbury on July 29, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces. He has two brothers, Braden John Clawson and Logan Dean Clawson, 2. Grandparents are Dean and Billy Jean Randleman and David Hand, all of Salisbury, and Bill and Cindy Kobiska of Lake City, Mich. Great-grandparents are Vivian Sprinkle, Frances Hand and Bill and Joyce Clawson, all of Salisbury, and John and Martha Moore of Troutman.
Brody Beemer
A son, Brody James David, was born to Michael and Jamie Beemer of Concord on July 24, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces. He has a sister, Victoria, 11. Grandparents are Jim and Terry Carriker of Concord, Sandy Javoian of San Antonio, Texas, and Annie Sievers of Hotchiss, Colo. Great-grandparents are James Carriker of Concord and Charles MacConnell of Duvall, Wash.
Makinley Porter
A daughter, Makinley Elise, was born to Brandon and Jenna Porter of China Grove on July 30, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces. She has a sister, Makalya Elizabeth Porter, 2 1/2. Grandparents are Stephen and Patricia Fowler and Buddy Porter Sr., all of China Grove, and Terri Oliver of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Olivia Anderson of Kannapolis, Stephen G. Fowler of Georgia, Floyd Hannah of Salisbury, Joyce Hannah of Charlotte and Blair Morton of Supply.Layla McGuire

A son, Daniel Scott, was born to Heather and Scott Jessee on July 30, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. He weighed 8 pounds. He has a brother, Lane, 7, and two sisters, Lacey, 8, and Sarah, 4. Asa Coplin
A son, Asa Grey, was born to Charity Dobbins and Joshua Coplin of Advance on July 23, 2008, at Forsyth Regional Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces. He has a sister, Ansleigh Coplin, 6. Grandparents are Phillip and Cheryl Dobbins and Allen and Linda Coplin, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Louise Scott of Salisbury and Rose Balsamo of Ponchatoula, La.Sara Culbert
A daughter, Sara Elizabeth, was born to Kurt and Erin Culbert of China Grove on July 15, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 6 pounds, 11.5 ounces. Grandparents are Michael and Louella Culbert of Wellsville, N.Y., and William and Barbara Martin of Carrollton, Ohio.
