Salisbury Police made a third arrest in the murder of a Salisbury dentist.
Police arrested Christopher Allen Boyd, 21, of 873 Oakwood Villa Drive, Kannapolis, early Sunday morning, Salisbury Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office special response team took Boyd into custody from a home in Concord on Sunday morning, Wilhelm said.
Police charged Jonathan Alexander Barnett, 18, of 6276 Old Salisbury Road, Kannapolis, with murder late Saturday night.
Dr. James David Boyd, 47, was found in his bed early Thursday morning, bound and strangled at his home at 9 Pine Tree Road near the Salisbury Country Club.
On Thursday night, police charged Candice Jo Drye, 23, of Mocksville, with murder.
Wilhelm said Christopher Boyd, who is not related to Dr. Boyd, is the brother of Drye’s boyfriend. He said Barnett is Christopher Boyd’s cousin.
Drye, Barnett and Boyd are being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond.
