CARY ó Kyle Seager and Tim Federowicz hit back-to-back homers in the fourth inning to support Alex White’s strong start and lift North Carolina past North Carolina-Wilmington 5-1 on Saturday in the NCAA Cary Regional.
White (9-3) threw a three-hitter and struck out eight for the top-seeded Tar Heels (48-12). Seager finished with three RBIs for the Tar Heels, who took control with a two-out power surge in the fourth.
Seager, a former Northwest Cabarrus star, lined a 1-2 pitch from Hatcher over the wall in right field to score Tim Fedroff. Federowicz followed by sending a 1-2 pitch out to left-center, pushing the lead to 4-0.
The Seahawks fell to 9-47 all-time against the Tar Heels.

CARYó Mike Melillo’s two-run homer in the sixth inning Saturday helped Elon beat Mount St. Mary’s in an elimination game.

RALEIGH ó Marcus Jones’ tiebreaking RBI single in the seventh inning lifted North Carolina State to the victory. Dallas Poulk homered and drove in two runs for the top-seeded Wolfpack (40-20), who remained perfect in regional play and advanced to the title round. JMU 13, Charlotte 12
RALEIGHó Brett Sellers hit a two-run double in the eighth, and James Madison rallied from an eight-run deficit to beat Charlotte in an elimination game. The Dukes (39-19) trailed 10-2 after four innings.

East Carolina 9, Columbia 0
CONWAY, S.C. ó East Carolina took an early lead behind home runs from Jamie Ray and Corey Kemp and eliminated Columbia.
Coastal 13, Alabama 10
CONWAY, S.C. ó Coastal Carolina outfielder Tommy Baldridge hit a three-run homer and the Chanticleers scored seven runs in the eighth inning for a 13-10 comeback win. The Chanticleers (49-12) trailed 10-6 entering the eighth inning.
TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ó Florida State unleashed a season-high 25-hit attack on Florida to stave off elimination with a 17-11 NCAA Regional win. The Seminoles (49-11), the No. 4 seed nationally, rallied from an early four-run deficit, then broke a 9-9 tie by outscoring the Gators 8-2 over the final four innings.
