From staff reports
Appalachian State sophomore outfielder Jake Faggart is transferring to Catawba.
Faggart’s family notified the Post of the move Friday.
Faggart will provide a boost for a Catawba outfield corps that loses seniors David Thomas and Matt Kepley and is also likely to lose Jerry Sands in the June draft.
Faggart was a teammate of Catawba pitcher Blake Ketner on a Northwest Cabarrus team that reached the 3A state championship series in 2005 and a teammate of Ketner and Catawba catcher Ryan Query on the Kannapolis American Legion team that won Area III in 2006.
